We are doing well in our little corner of the ocean. The boys both received new sponge bob pajamas in honor of pajama day at Blake's school. Dante refused to take his off for forty-eight hours and caused many a chuckle to sneak out of frowning tourists as he trotted about town.
There is nothing quite like the love and encouragement of a parent. It convinces you that any journey can be attempted and finished if only you can see your self through their eyes. My parent's visit was such a needed gift for all of us and we feel rejuvenated and inspired to continue our adventure.
It was wonderful to meander through the streets and sit in the sun...hardly any tourist sights were seen...beautiful non-agenda afternoons!
Blake went bungee jumping for the first time and Dante on his first tilt-a-car ride...
On a final note, legos have won the prize for the best toy on board!

Well, well, well! Didn't we have a spectacular visit!? This posting and the accompanying images bring it all back. It was an absolute treat to see and spend time with the boys and to have quality, quiet hours with you and John. The meals aboard the Vindhler were wonderful, perhaps because of the trials and tribulations of making and serving them, but more likely because of the love and shared intimacy of family--to say nothing of John's touch with food! Thank you both.
ReplyDeleteSo, too, was our dinner out, a la francaise, a special treat and occasion. I still have a vivid image of young Master Blake sitting across the table with his impecable BB shirt and blazer, looking for all the world like a celebrity or media star--not unlike his glamorous mother. And what a fisherman he has become! The trout at Moosehead won't be ready for him.
It does our hearts good to read and see your blog. All parents should be so fortunate as to have daughters like ours, great sons-in-law, and precocious, beautiful, intelligent, grandchildren with big hearts and a fine moral base. You make us proud!
Love to All.

I loved the story of the pajamas! How we wished we could come to visit. We think of you so often, and are so grateful that you visited for all the time you did in DC. It will be a grand reunion at camp this year! I can't believe Blake went bungee jumping!!!! Wow. And Dante is looking quite grown-up these days, despite the Sponge Bob outfit. - Love, C
